PROCOR CAMP BADO DANGWA: Police Regional Office Cordillera arrested a leader of a gun running syndicate and three others in a separate implementation of search warrant.
Police arrested the leader of “Balagan Group” identified as Edwin Dela Peña Balagan, 45, in his residence at Sitio Madago, Brgy. San Ramon West, Manabo, Abra during an operation in the early morning of April 26, 2017.
Confiscated items were one Caliber .45 Pistol; Two Magazines for Caliber .45 Pistol; 11 Live Ammunition for Caliber .45 Pistol and 91 Live Ammunition for Caliber 5.56 Rifle.
The group of Balagan is an unlisted Criminal Group but believed to be involved in gun-running activities and responsible in supplying illegal firearms to criminals in Abra and nearby provinces.
Another two revolver custodian identified as Pedrito Bustillo Silvano Sr. and Pedrito Bustillo Silvano Jr. aka June, both residents of Camp 6, Kennon Road, Tuba, Benguet were also arrested in their residence in the early morning of the same day. Items confiscated were caliber 38 revolver (paltik) with four live ammunition.
Another gun keeper identified as Gavino Ducayag was arrested in his residence at Sitio Barikir, Barangay San Antonio, Bangued, Abra after several firearms and ammunitions were seized thereat in the morning of April 27, 2017.
Seized items were One Elisco M16 rifle with defaced Serial Number; One GA 12 Shotgun loaded with two live ammunitions; Two long metal magazine for M16 rifle; six short magazine for M16 rifle; 66 live ammunitions for M16 rifle; Nine live ammunitions for GA 12 Shotgun; and One live ammunition for Cal 9mm.
Arrested suspects are now in the custody of the concerned operating units while pertinent documents are being prepared for filling of charges against them in court.
The PNP PROCOR is appealing to those possible victims victimized by the group to come forward and file additional charges. (PROCOR RPIO)
