PROCOR CAMP BADO DANGWA: Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) has arrested a total of 2,293 wanted criminals in various police operations and three TMWP with rewards in the year 2017.
In its sustained anti-criminality operations specifically the reinvigorated anti-crime program dubbed as “Oplan Lambat-Sibat which aims to keep the communities safer with the primary goal of reducing crime and improving public safety, a total of 2,054 wanted persons were arrested from January to December 2017. The highest performing office is Baguio City Police Office with 857 arrests followed by Benguet PPO with 413; Abra PPO- 224; Kalinga PPO- 204; Ifugao PPO- 191; Apayao-86; and the least which is Mountain Province PPO recorded 79 arrests.
For the Ten Most Wanted Persons (TMWP), a total of 239 were arrested for the period, 10 of which belongs to the regional level, 66 in the provincial level and 163 in the municipal/city level.
Most noteworthy accomplishment during the year was the neutralization of the top most wanted person in the national level, Willy Sagasag with a reward of Php600,000.00, the arrest of the head of the Military Affairs of the CPP/NPA, Prudencio Cortez with a reward of Php4.8-M and Bernard Wacoy y Bitaol with a reward of Php90,000.00.
PCSUPT Elmo Francis Oco Sarona, Regional Director said that the positive result of massive manhunt operations is the noteworthy result of PRO-COR’s continuous crime reduction program. “We are relentlessly dedicated to continue our service as protectors of the people. We grab this chance to hunt these criminals to prevent them from committing their nefarious activities to ensure the security of the public," Sarona added.
Likewise, he directed all unit commanders to passionately implement the service of warrants and account all wanted persons to help fast track pending cases in various courts of the region. (PROCOR RPIO)
