PROCOR CAMP BADO DANGWA: Operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera arrested eleven drug peddlers, gamblers and log violators in a series of police operations in the different parts of the region.

In an anti-illegal drug operation, four drug suspects were locked up in jail. Drug pusher identified as Ronald Gandia Baracas A.K.A “TAGBAT”, 35, vendor, native of Sual Pangasinan and renting at San Luis Village, Baguio City was nabbed in the evening of September 5, 2017 at the INC Compound, San Luis, Baguio City in a buy-bust operation. As a result, three (3) heat sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu and buy-bust money amounting to Php1,500.00 was confiscated from his possession.

In another operation, by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Maria Ligaya Itliong Rivera of RTC Branch 5, Baguio City, three individuals were captured in their residents at Valencerina Alley, MRR-Queen of Peace, Baguio City in the night of September 7, 2017. Arrested suspects were identified as Sharon Tolentino Neri, 46, single, nurse, Lawrence Gonzales Camilon, 43, single and Rogelio Caparas. Recovered from their possession were Nine (9) heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, one (1) Small brown paper envelope, one (1) Gray Blue Striped Nike Sling Bag and one (1) Double Mint container.

In anti-illegal gambling operation, four gamblers were neutralized. Julius Bunga Ayasan, 40, a resident of Naguilian, La Union was nabbed in the afternoon of September 6, 2017 at Purok 1, Irisan, Baguio City who was caught in the act of collecting bets. Confiscated from his possession were bet money amounting to Php660.00, two pieces blue ball pen, and assorted illegal gambling paraphernalia.

Another three gamblers were likewise apprehended the following day afternoon after they were caught in the act of playing card games in Brgy. Zone 1, Bangued, Abra. Arrested gamblers were identified as Andy Tadeo Torres, 49, miner, leader of the group and a resident of Brgy. Tumalip, Licuan-Baay, Abra; Fredelito Pulido Frado, 41, driver, a resident of Brgy. Bantaoay, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur; and Galiman Salang-oy Magewao, 29, single, unemployed a resident of Brgy. Danac West, Boliney, Abra.

Suspects were identified as unlisted members of the “Torres Criminal Group” and responsible in leading illegal gambling activity in the area. Confiscated during the operation were set of playing cards and bet money amounting to Php495.00 in different denominations.

On the other hand, three log violators were arrested after they were intercepted at Callagdao Tabuk, Kalinga by personnel of Kalinga PPSC based at Callagdao Police Precinct in the morning of September 7, 2017. Arrested suspects were identified as Joey Duga Bucatan, 25, married, driver and a resident of San Rafael, Paracelis Mt. Province and his companions identified as Rodel Pucling Lucio 33, single, a resident of Banilag Poblacion, Paracelis, Mt. Province; and Gina Batangay Tomas, 37, married, a resident of Bananao, Paracelis, Mt. Province

Prior to their arrest, Bucatan was driving the Isuzu Elf truck bearing plate TGS 985 loaded with undetermined volume of alleged Narra lumber when they were stopped by the police. As a result, said Narra lumber were seized after they failed to present necessary documents pertaining to its transport.
All arrested suspects are now under the custody of the concerned operating units while appropriate charges were filed against them in court.
