On January 25, 2017 at about 10:00 AM, the Declaration of the Province of Abra as a Drug Cleared Province was spearheaded by PSSUPT ALEXANDER C TAGUM, Provincial Director held at the Provincial Capitol Atrium which was attended by PCSUPT ELMO FRANCIS O SARONA, Regional Director, PROCOR, Dir. Marlo Iringan, Regional Director, DILG-CAR, Dir. Edgar S. Apalla, Regional Director, PDEA-CAR, Ms. Millicent B. Carino, Provincial Director, DILG-Abra, Hon. Ma Jocelyn V. Bernos, Governor, Hon. Ronald Balao-as, Vice Governor, LCEs, MLGOOs, COPs and various stakeholders of the Abrenian Community. Said activity started with the mass singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by the Abra Capitol Chorale and was followed by the Opening Prayer by Rev. Fr. Samuel Baruela, Bangued Parish Priest. Thereafter PSSUPT ALEXANDER C TAGUM reported the status of accomplishments on the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the PNP as a basis for the declaration of the Abra as drug cleared province. Then and there Governor Ma. Jocelyn V. Bernos, as the PADAC Chairman, declared the Province of Abra as a Drug Cleared Province. This was followed by singing of Makabayan Songs by the Abra Capitol Chorale.

To signify the significance of the activity, the unveiling of tarpaulin and commemorative marker bearing the declaration of the province as drug cleared was administered by the Regional Directors of PROCOR, DILG-CAR, PDEA-CAR, Provincial Directors of DILG-Abra, Abra PPO, Provincial Governor, Vice Governor, and LCEs.

As partners in promoting peace and order, the Officers Ladies Club (OLC) headed by Ms Josephine Amor P Sarona, OLC Adviser donated a motor vehicle this morning during the flag raising ceremony at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet. 

Regional Director PCSUPT Elmo Francis Sarona, spearheaded the signing of the deed of donation together with PSUPT Noel Vallo, OIC, Regional Logistics Division, NUP Iluminada Lachica, RSAO and the members of the OLC. After the signing, the key of said motor vehicle was turned-over to the Regional Director which was later blessed by the regional chaplain.

The initiative of the OLC in donating a vehicle manifests that the group recognizes and supports the noble functions of PROCOR in promoting peace and order and the general welfare of the citizens of the Cordillera. 

Likewise, RD Sarona led the awarding of five PNP personnel for their commitment and devotion to duty in fighting Illegal Drugs which resulted in a laudable accomplishment that brought honor and prestige not only for themselves but for the PNP Cordillera as well.  

PROCOR Leadership advised all personnel to observe and excise the highest level of security and to be cautious at all times. Similarly, he enjoined all personnel to be vigilant in securing confidential matters within the unit to preserve the integrity of our personnel.
