PROCOR CAMP BADO DANGWA: PRO-Cordillera arrested five gun holders of unlicensed firearms and seized assorted firearms, several ammunitions and subversive documents.  

Recently, four individuals were immediately arrested in a checkpoint for illegally possessing firearms and assorted ammunition at Sitio Tiiwan, Poblacion, Hungduan in the night of March 16, 2017. Prior to their arrest, personnel of Hungduan MPS flagged down two motorcycles driven by Hernanie Lamhi y Madani aka Hernan and Ben Baguilat y Madani aka Cresendo, 44, both farmers, and residents of Daclanto, Wangwang, Tinoc, Ifugao and their back ride John Lee Hondrado y Navarro aka Hernan, 24, alleged NPA member, and a resident of Brgy Posadas, Sara Ilo-ilo and Justine Aquino y Buarao aka “Ka Macoy”, 24, laborer, and with present address at Tondo, Manila. 

As a result, the operatives confiscated one (1) cal. 45, One (1) 9mm, one magazine containing 26 rounds of ammunitions for cal. 45 and 9mm; one Binocular Waterproof with black pouch; one Quick Knife; cash money amounting to Php1,700.00, several subversive documents and maps of Hungduan and Tinoc, Ifugao; one pocket Wi-Fi gadget; One bolo; assorted dual sim cellular phones; and three Identification Cards of John N. Hondrado and identification Card under the name of one Christelle V. Belo from the possession of Aquino and Honrado. The arrested persons failed to present the pertinent documents of the above firearms. 

In a series of implementation of search warrants, police arrested Leonardo Linggayo in his residence after assorted ammunition and a firearm was seized in his household at Purok 1, Cudal, Tabuk City, Kalinga in the morning of March 15, 2017. 

Items seized were cal. 30 Carbine with defaced serial number; one (1) magazine loaded with 25 ammunitions and assorted ammunition for cal. 45 and cal. 22 pistol; and a magazine for cal. 9mm pistol loaded with three live ammunitions. During the implementation of the Search Warrant issued by Judge Victor A. Dalanao of Tabuk MTCC, 2nd Judicial Region, Tabuk, Kalinga, the son of Leonardo managed to escape. 

In another operation, police also seized 1 Cal. 38 revolver Smith and Wesson with defaced serial number; 9 pieces round ammunition’s for Cal. 38 and Cal. 45; 1 unit Homemade 12 gauge shotgun; and 1 piece empty magazine for Cal. 45 at the house of one of the former SB member who is a resident of Barangay Doña Loreta, Pudtol, Apayao in the early morning of March 14, 2017. During the implementation of the Search Warrant issued by Judge Amy Alafag-Verzola, 4th MCTC, Second Judicial Region, Luna, Apayao, the suspect was not around. 

All arrested suspects together with the seized pieces of evidence are now under the custody of the concerned operating units while a case for violation of RA 10591 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act are being prepared for filing. 

PROCOR Regional Director PCSUPT Elmo Francis Oco Sarona said that PROCOR will continuously conduct an efficient campaign and advocacy by implementing a wide-ranging pro-active approach/strategy on the campaign against all forms of criminality especially the seizure of loose firearms in coordination with various law enforcement and other concerned government agencies.
